JBCI HEALTH DIRECTOR
The Jena Band of Choctaw Indians is seeking to hire a Health Director. The Health Director is responsible for developing and managing Tribal health programs, and projects, is responsible for all grants, and programs related to the health and wellbeing of the Tribe. The Health Director must ensure that all timelines and budgets are being adhered to as they develop and implement public health projects geared towards improving the overall general health of the Tribe. This position will report directly to the Chief. This position requires complex decision-making and extensive collaboration with peers and senior leaders within the Administration. The Jena Band of Choctaw Indians seeks an individual who thinks and acts strategically and effectively to help increase the Tribe’s capacity to advance programs, provide research, and technical assistance and develop systems approaches that will help improve Tribal health.
Location: Health Department in Jena, Louisiana Reports to: Tribal Chief and Council

MINIMUM DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check and drug screening, have a valid driver’s license, must have no felony, theft, or drug convictions, have a degree in public health, administration, or nursing from an accredited college, experience in the healthcare field, experience using EHR systems, must adhere to and abide by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and privacy protocols along with protection of medical records/documentation, and other specifications.

Members of the Jena Band of Choctaw Indian Tribe shall be given absolute preference with respect to hiring, promotions, training, and contracting.
