Enrollment
Halito!
To be eligible for enrollment in the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians, you must be a direct descendant of a member listed on the Official 1995 Tribal Roll.
Here's the step-by-step process to enroll:
Request an enrollment application and ancestry chart from the Membership Enrollment Specialist (MES).
Schedule DNA testing with the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians Health Department. Provide DNA samples for yourself and the person on the tribal roll you are descended from.
Submit your completed application and ancestry chart to the MES.
Important: Include a copy of your birth certificate and social security card.
The Enrollment Department will formally request the DNA results from the Health Department.
Once all documentation is received, the Membership Enrollment Specialists has twenty (20) business days to review.
The Enrollment Committee then has 20 business days to review and make a decision.
If the committee approves, your application goes to the Tribal Chief and Council for final approval.
